Why Texting is important to reaching Teens

Karen forwarded this article to me from the Suicide Prevention Resource Center regarding a teen text messaging program in Minnesota. I think this article is important for everyone to read. It gets to the heart of why we decided to open up texting as another important resource for teens. Our goal and Minnesota’s are the same. We know kids are at-risk, and the telephone is not the modality they choose for communication. I hope we are able to report in the near future that kids are texting us twice as often as calling. That would be a great success!
