I usually post informative or inspirational articles to enrich our understanding of mental health, suicide, and other aspects of the human condition.
This story makes is a very sad story. I am posting it because it illustrates how isolated people can get. It also shows the importance of social media and new technology and the potential that we have in preventing tragedies like this in the future. I strongly believe that Elliot was reaching through youtube for help. He talked about his loneliness and envy in his videos.
I also think this article is reporting on the story in a more responsible way. It shows some of the humanity of the killer.
We can work together towards a society where people never have to feel as lonely, or desperate as Elliot did.
my heart goes out to him, the other people who died, and everyone affected.
